Briggs & Stratton donates 2,000 engines to 50 EETC member schools

Is your school a member of the EETC? If not, you may want to reconsider.

Among the many perks, manufacturers often ask us to facilitate generous donations to our nearly member schools.

Briggs & Stratton recently contacted us about facilitating the donation of 2,000 engines. We notified our nearly 200 member schools about the desired engine donation and encouraged them to apply for it through our website at www.eetc.org. The engines were then donated to 50 EETC member schools, including Upper Bucks County Technical School in Perkasie, Pa. (see photo).

In a letter to EETC Executive Director Erik Sides, William Young, small engine technology instructor at Upper Bucks County Technical School, wrote: "I want to thank you for getting the word out about the Briggs snowblower engines. We were lucky enough to receive a pallet of 40 engines. They will go to good use helping my students prepare for the future."

To join the EETC, go to www.eetc.org, click on the "Register" tab, select your member type, and complete the subsequent steps. As you will see, the annual fees for high schools are only $100 and colleges or universities is $250, students may join for free, and anyone can become a member.

Incidentally, if your school was fortunate enough to be one of the 50 lucky recipients of Briggs & Stratton’s generous engine donation, please post a photo of your students with the engines to Facebook and tag both Briggs & Stratton and the EETC. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

A huge thank you to Briggs and Stratton for the donation of the engines to Central Louisiana Community College. These engine will help to train the best small engine technicians the Bayou state has to offer. Although we don't see much snow down here an engine to train on is better than not having one to train on!!

Thanks for the Briggs & Stratton engines donated to Henry Ford II High School Small engine program. The students will be using these on their engine tear down & measurement project. My students were shocked and excited to have the ability to work on FREE new engines.

Vantage Career Center (Van Wert, Ohio) would like to thank Briggs & Stratton and EETC for the generous donation of the 40 brand new engines. Our students were amazed that the engines were donated free of charge! The engines are already being used as training aids and will come in handy when we host the various FFA contests pertaining to small engines. THANKS again!!!
