The OPE accreditation program is for schools that have an outdoor power equipment program. The program was created by the EETC Education Committee to improve the quality and consistency of training offered at the high school, vocational school, and college levels. Through the use of industry-developed standards, the graduating student will be truly prepared to enter the outdoor power equipment industry with the skills and values desired by employers
This accreditation program offers your educational institution the ability to become accredited based on your present curriculum. The EETC does not endorse a specific curriculum. It does, however, set industry agreed standards for the classroom facilities, instructor qualifications, and competencies for subject matter. One important component of the program is the use of the EETC Technician Certification Program as a quantifying tool to assess student achievement. The EETC strongly supports instructor/student EETC Technician Certification after completing an accredited school training program.
The EETC is excited to announce our student scholarship program. Two scholarship programs are available; the Paul H. Scholten Memorial Scholarship and the Francis A. Ariens Memorial Scholarship. Named in honor of two industry leaders, these scholarships are offered on an annual basis. Each qualifing student will receive $1,000 to use toward his education in the repair of outdoor power equipment at an accredited EETC school. In 2003 we have awarded the alloted six Paul H. Scholten scholarships. There are four Francis A. Ariens scholarships available for the 2003-2004 school year. If you think that you may qualify for this scholarship click on the link above to download the PDF application form.
